Standard upright companion headstones (designed for two people) are typically 42"–48" wide. A three-person monument usually requires 54"–72" of width to accommodate three distinct inscription panels without crowding. Before designing, it is essential to confirm with your cemetery how many adjacent lots you own and what the maximum monument width is for those lots. Not all cemeteries permit monuments that span multiple lots.
Inscription Layout Options
For a three-person monument, common inscription layouts include:
