Companion Bevel Granite Grave Marker with Praying Hands

The Companion Bevel Granite Grave Marker with Praying Hands is a meaningful granite memorial designed to honor two loved ones through the powerful symbols of faith, devotion, and eternal hope. The praying hands image — evoking Albrecht Dürer's 1508 rendering that has become one of the most recognizable religious emblems in Christian art — represents humility before God, intercessory prayer, and the comfort of divine presence in grief.

The marker's bevel design slopes from a low rear edge (approximately 3 inches) to a higher front face (approximately 6 inches), creating a natural reading angle for inscriptions and a water-drain profile that keeps the polished surface clean across seasons. An elegant praying hands carving is centered on the polished face, naturally dividing the inscription space for two individuals. Standard companion dimensions are 36 × 12 × 3/6 inches (back to front), weighing approximately 70 to 80 pounds; 48 × 12-inch companion versions are available for additional inscription space.

The spacious polished surface accommodates two names, birth and death dates, laser-engraved photographic portraits on either side of the praying hands, Bible verse inscriptions, and personalized epitaphs. Common companion inscriptions include "Together in God's Hands," "Held in Eternal Prayer," "Reunited With the Lord," and Scripture passages from Philippians 4:6–7, Psalm 31:5, or John 14:2–3. The praying hands motif pairs naturally with a cross, dove, or Rosary imagery engraved in the surrounding field.

Galaxy Black granite is the preferred finish for laser-engraved portrait work and praying hands relief detail, providing maximum contrast. Grey and Indian Black offer the classic memorial aesthetic most associated with traditional Christian grave markers; Bahama Blue provides a serene, contemplative background. This marker is available in seven genuine granite finishes: Bahama Blue (deep ocean-blue tone with silver flecks, popular for serene tributes), Bahama Blue Light (lighter tropical blue-grey with a luminous sheen), Galaxy Black (jet-black with golden mineral specks, the highest-contrast surface for engraving), Grey (classic silver-grey with subtle crystalline veining), Indian Black (deep charcoal-black, refined and understated), Indian Red (warm rust-red with natural mineral variation), and Paradiso Old (a richly toned blend of emerald green, charcoal grey, and deep burgundy). Each finish is sourced from monument-grade granite and polished to a permanent, weather-resistant mirror surface.

The bevel profile's maximum height of approximately 6 inches meets the restrictions of most Catholic memorial parks, municipal cemeteries, and garden sections that limit monuments to 6 to 8 inches above grade. Memory Headstones confirms all cemetery-specific dimensions, foundation requirements, and installation details before production.
