Companion Scroll Shape Granite Headstone

The Companion Scroll Shape Granite Headstone is a distinctive granite monument designed to commemorate two loved ones and the enduring legacy they built together. Its scroll-form silhouette — drawn from the ancient tradition of honoring important lives and lasting words on scrolled parchment — symbolizes remembrance, shared history, and the written record of a life well lived. The rolled-edge detail on each side of the headstone gives it a classical, literary appearance that sets it apart in any memorial garden or cemetery. Standard companion dimensions are approximately 40 to 48 inches wide by 24 to 30 inches tall by 6 to 8 inches thick, with a granite base of 42 by 12 by 6 inches — sized for a companion double-wide burial plot accommodating two caskets or cremation urns side by side.

The wide polished front surface offers generous inscription space for both individuals' names, life dates, and personal text, making this a meaningful single headstone with two names or headstone for two. The natural visual division — created by the scroll's center axis or a carved vertical line — separates each person's dedication while keeping the overall design unified. For a surviving spouse, one half is engraved at the time of passing and the other receives only the name, with the death date reserved for future inscription — standard living-spouse practice accepted at virtually all U.S. cemeteries. A shared epitaph, surname, or scripture can span the full width across the scroll's upper register.

Made from durable granite memorial stone, this headstone is engineered to retain its polished surface and legible engravings through generations of outdoor cemetery conditions. Available in seven granite colors: Absolute Black (highest engraving contrast), Galaxy Black (best surface for laser-etched portraits), Imperial Red, Mahogany, Gray Mist, Blue Pearl, and Balmoral Red. The scroll's rolled side capitals can be left in the natural stone finish or polished to match the face.

Personalization options include laser-etched photographic portraits (recommended on Galaxy Black or Absolute Black granite), botanical motifs (ivy for fidelity, roses for love, lily of the valley for renewed happiness), religious symbols (crucifix, Sacred Heart, Angel of Comfort, Star of David), paired scripture verses, or bilingual inscriptions for Italian, Portuguese, or Hispanic Catholic families. Popular paired inscriptions include: "His story / Her story / Their love, one legacy" or Psalm 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." A digital design proof is provided within two business days showing exact layout, fonts, and artwork. Cemetery coordination is included with every order. Standard delivery covers all 50 states, with professional installation in 20 service areas. As a lasting gravestone and tombstone for two, the Companion Scroll Shape Granite Headstone offers a beautifully literary way to honor two lives and the connection they shared.
