Rock Edge Flat Granite Grave Marker

Rock Edge Flat Granite Grave Marker is a distinctive ground-level memorial that honors a loved one with dignity, natural character, and lasting craftsmanship. This flat grave marker combines a fully polished top face with naturally rough rock-split sides, creating a striking contrast between the refined engraving surface and the raw, handcrafted stone texture on the perimeter.

Standard dimensions are 24 × 12 × 4 inches, weighing approximately 55 to 60 pounds. The rock-edge perimeter is produced by manually splitting the granite along its natural cleavage planes, leaving a surface that reflects the ancient geological character of the stone. No two rock-edge profiles are identical, giving each memorial a one-of-a-kind silhouette. The polished top face is precision-smooth, providing excellent clarity for laser-engraved portraits, sandblasted lettering, and detailed religious or nature-inspired artwork.

The rock-edge style is popular in garden memorial parks, natural burial settings, and Catholic cemetery sections where families seek a flat marker with organic visual character that still meets ground-level height requirements. Its textured sides also provide a natural visual boundary that distinguishes the plot without the formality of a raised or upright monument.

This marker is available in seven genuine granite finishes: Bahama Blue (deep ocean-blue tone with silver flecks, popular for serene tributes), Bahama Blue Light (lighter tropical blue-grey with a luminous sheen), Galaxy Black (jet-black with golden mineral specks, the highest-contrast surface for engraving), Grey (classic silver-grey with subtle crystalline veining), Indian Black (deep charcoal-black, refined and understated), Indian Red (warm rust-red with natural mineral variation), and Paradiso Old (a richly toned blend of emerald green, charcoal grey, and deep burgundy). The rock-edge treatment is especially striking in Indian Red and Paradiso Old granite, where the natural colour variation on the split sides contrasts dramatically with the polished memorial face. Galaxy Black is the preferred finish for laser-engraved portrait work, holding fine photographic detail with exceptional contrast.
