Serpentine Upright Granite Headstone

The Serpentine Upright Granite Headstone is a classic memorial measuring 30 × 6 × 24 inches, featuring a softly arched serp-top profile and natural rock-pitched sides that give the monument a handcrafted, organic character. The serpentine — or serp-top — profile is one of the most traditional headstone shapes in American cemetery design: its gentle double-curve top distinguishes it from a simple arch while maintaining the dignified upright silhouette expected in most cemeteries nationwide.

The rock-pitched sides contrast with the smooth mirror-finish on the front face, a hallmark of traditional craftsmanship that holds up exceptionally well over decades of outdoor exposure. This natural texture contrast requires no additional ornamentation — the stones' own character provides the visual interest. The polished face provides engraving space for names, dates, a personal epitaph, custom artwork, religious symbols, decorative borders, and laser-engraved portraits.

Available in seven premium granite colors: Grey and Indian Black are the most popular selections for the serpentine upright style — their tones complement the rock-pitched side texture; Galaxy Black is recommended for families adding a laser-engraved photographic portrait. Additional options: Bahama Blue, Bahama Blue Light, Indian Red, and Paradiso Old.

Our cemetery coordination team confirms dimensions (30 × 6 × 24 inches), foundation requirements, and local cemetery regulations before production begins. A complimentary digital design proof is provided before engraving begins. Crafted since 1960 through three generations of memorial expertise — this serpentine upright headstone is built for a lifetime of outdoor strength and lasting remembrance.
