Modern Mary Upright Headstone

The Modern Mary Upright Headstone is a contemporary Catholic granite memorial featuring a gracefully engraved figure of the Virgin Mary on a flowing sculpted panel, paired with a matching granite vase for fresh or silk flower tributes. Measuring 24 × 4 × 18 inches, this monument suits standard single-grave cemetery spaces and meets most Catholic cemetery dimension and style guidelines.

This headstone is a popular choice for Catholic families who want a modern aesthetic rather than a traditional carved statue, while still honoring Our Lady as an enduring symbol of faith, maternal love, and intercessory prayer. The engraved Marian figure, rendered in fine detail on the polished granite face, provides a permanent devotional presence at the graveside. Families frequently pair this monument with inscriptions such as "Our Lady of Grace, Pray for Us," "Blessed Are Those Who Mourn," or personalized Spanish epitaphs including "Bajo la Protección de Nuestra Señora."

Available in seven granite colors: Galaxy Black (recommended for the sharpest detail on the engraved Mary figure and for laser-etched portrait photography), Indian Black, Grey, Bahama Blue, Bahama Blue Light, Indian Red, and Paradiso Old. Our team provides a digital design proof — including the engraved Marian figure placement, name layout, dates, and custom epitaph — for your review and approval before production begins.

Engraving options include sandblasted lettering for names, dates, and inscriptions, and laser-etched photographic portraits on Galaxy Black or Indian Black granite for a high-resolution, permanent likeness. The integrated granite vase is sized for standard fresh or silk flower arrangements. Our cemetery coordination team verifies monument dimensions, foundation requirements, and Catholic cemetery approval protocols on your behalf before cutting begins.

Crafted with three generations of monument craftsmanship since 1960, this contemporary Marian granite headstone is built for lasting beauty and devotional presence in outdoor cemetery settings.
