Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Companion Headstone

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Companion Headstone unites the most beloved devotional image in Catholicism with a design intended for two loved ones sharing a single cemetery plot. The Sacred Heart — shown encircled by the crown of thorns, surmounted by a cross, surrounded by radiating flames of divine love, and bearing the wound of the Holy Lance — has been a focal point of Catholic prayer since Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque received her private revelations at Paray-le-Monial in France between 1673 and 1675. Placing this image at the center of a companion memorial declares that both individuals shared a Catholic faith formed by the Sacred Heart devotion and that their families entrust them to Christ's infinite mercy.

As a companion headstone, this monument is designed for two individuals — typically spouses, life partners, or a parent and child — sharing a double-wide cemetery plot. Standard companion dimensions are approximately 36 to 44 inches wide by 28 to 36 inches tall by 6 to 8 inches thick, mounted on a granite base of 38 to 46 by 14 by 6 inches — sized to comply with Catholic cemetery and Archdiocesan monument regulations governing companion uprights. The broad polished face is divided between the Sacred Heart imagery in the center register and the two individual inscription panels flanking it on left and right.

Traditional Catholic inscriptions for this companion memorial include: "Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on their souls," "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them" (from the De Profundis), "Requiescant in Pace" (May they rest in peace), and the Christogram "IHS" with its Latin expansion "Iesus Hominum Salvator" (Jesus, Savior of Humanity). For a living-spouse arrangement, one panel is fully engraved at the time of first passing; the second panel receives only the name, with the death date left for future inscription — standard practice at all Catholic cemeteries.

Crafted from durable granite memorial stone, this companion headstone maintains its Sacred Heart relief, polished surface, and engraving clarity through decades of outdoor Catholic cemetery conditions. Available in seven granite colors: Absolute Black (maximum contrast for the Sacred Heart carving), Galaxy Black (best for laser portrait photography on the individual panels), Imperial Red (traditional in Hispanic, Irish-American, and Filipino Catholic communities), Mahogany, Gray Mist, Blue Pearl, and Balmoral Red. Personalization options include laser-etched portrait photographs, a Rosary border, lily or rose engraving, and bilingual English-Spanish text. A digital design proof is provided within two business days. Cemetery coordination is included with every order. Nationwide delivery covers all 50 states; professional installation is available in 20 service areas. As a lasting companion Catholic gravestone and tombstone for two, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Companion Headstone is among the most devotional memorials a Catholic family can choose.
