Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Granite Headstone

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Granite Headstone places the most universally recognized devotional image in Catholicism at the center of a lasting granite memorial. The Sacred Heart of Jesus — encircled by the crown of thorns, topped with a cross, surrounded by radiating flames of love, and bearing the wound of the lance — has been a cornerstone of Catholic devotion since the 17th-century revelations to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque and the institution of the Feast of the Sacred Heart by Pope Clement XIII in 1765. Choosing this image for a headstone announces the deceased's Catholic faith and love for Christ in the strongest possible terms, and is especially fitting for those who received the Nine Fridays devotion, belonged to the Sacred Heart League or Apostleship of Prayer, or whose families consecrated their home to the Sacred Heart.

Standard dimensions for this Catholic granite headstone are approximately 24 to 30 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall by 4 to 6 inches thick, set on a granite base of 26 to 32 by 10 by 6 inches — compliant with most Catholic cemetery and diocesan monument regulations. The polished granite face provides generous engraving space for the full name, birth and death dates, a scripture verse, and a personal epitaph. Traditional Catholic inscriptions include: "Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his/her soul," "Eternal rest grant unto him/her, O Lord" (the opening of the Requiem prayer), or "IHS" (the Sacred Monogram). Latin inscriptions such as "Requiescat in Pace" (RIP) and "In manus tuas, Domine, commendo spiritum meum" (Into Your hands, Lord, I commend my spirit — Luke 23:46) carry the weight of the Church's centuries-long prayer tradition.

Crafted from durable granite memorial stone, this headstone maintains its relief carving detail and polished surfaces through decades of outdoor Catholic cemetery conditions. Available in seven granite colors: Absolute Black (maximum contrast for Sacred Heart relief imagery), Galaxy Black (ideal when a laser-etched portrait photo is included), Imperial Red (popular in Hispanic and Filipino Catholic communities), Mahogany, Gray Mist, Blue Pearl, and Balmoral Red. The Sacred Heart relief carving can be polished or sandblasted for a two-finish contrast effect.

Personalization options include a laser-etched portrait photograph, a crucifix or Rosary border, lily or rose sprays (traditional symbols of purity and Our Lady), and bilingual English-Spanish inscriptions for Hispanic Catholic families. Common bilingual epitaphs include "Que descanse en paz / May he/she rest in peace" or "Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, en Ti confío." A digital design proof is provided within two business days. Cemetery coordination is included: we verify monument specifications with your Catholic cemetery's rules before production. Nationwide delivery covers all 50 states, with professional installation in 20 service areas. As a lasting Catholic gravestone, tombstone, and grave marker, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Granite Headstone is among the most devotional memorials a Catholic family can choose.
