Teardrop Shape Granite Headstone

The Teardrop Shape Granite Headstone is an upright shaped headstone with a graceful teardrop silhouette, measuring 22 × 4 × 28 inches for standard single-grave cemetery plots. The teardrop has been used across cultures for millennia as the universal symbol of love, grief, and the bond that does not dissolve at death — it appears in Celtic knotwork mourning pendants, Victorian memorial jewellery, and contemporary grief counselling iconography as a shape that holds both sorrow and tenderness at once.

The smooth, uninterrupted curve of the teardrop profile creates a quiet, distinctive presence in the cemetery that draws the eye without ostentation. The large polished inscription face holds two full names, dates, a portrait, religious symbols (Latin cross, rosary, Star of David, Celtic triquetra, dove), and a personal epitaph such as "Tears of Love," "Gone but Never Forgotten," or "Forever Held in Our Hearts." The 22-inch width allows two side-by-side inscription columns for couples, or a single wide panel for an individual memorial with expanded artwork.

At 28 inches tall this headstone is within the 30-inch upright marker height limits of most Catholic diocesan cemeteries, non-denominational memorial parks, and municipal burial grounds. Our cemetery coordination team verifies your specific plot's allowable height, width, base size, and foundation requirements before the stone ships.

Available in seven granite colors: Galaxy Black (sharpest portrait and lettering contrast), Indian Black (fine grain, very deep polish), Grey (neutral and universally accepted, including VA cemeteries), Bahama Blue (distinctive blue-grey character), Bahama Blue Light (soft, restrained coastal tone), Indian Red (warm hue that highlights the teardrop's flowing curve), and Paradiso Old (teal, burgundy, and grey swirl for a natural, garden-like quality). Galaxy Black and Indian Black are recommended for laser-etched photographic portraits.
