Rugby Ball Headstone

The Rugby Ball Headstone is a shaped sports headstone with a sculpted rugby ball on a clean upright base, measuring 18 × 6 × 18 inches. Its compact size suits standard cemetery plots and cremation plots, and it is designed to honor a player, coach, club member, or devoted supporter of the game. Rugby — played on six continents with over 9 million registered players globally — represents teamwork, grit, discipline, and loyalty, values that transcend the field and define a life.

The sculpted ball sits at the top of the headstone with clearly defined panels and seam lines, hand-carved in relief so the ball's form is unmistakable from cemetery walking paths. The polished base panel holds names, full dates, a jersey number, a club name, and an inscription such as "Forever Part of the Team," "Full Time," "Always in the Front Row," or a specific club motto. A laser-etched portrait can be added to the lower panel for an even more personal tribute.

The 18 × 18-inch footprint fits the smallest standard single-grave lots and most cremation niche covers. For larger burial plots, companion versions or base extensions are available — contact our cemetery coordination team for sizing options, foundation requirements, and installation scheduling.

Available in seven granite colors: Galaxy Black (deepest contrast for engraved lettering and portrait etching), Indian Black (fine grain, high polish), Grey (restrained and widely permitted by cemeteries), Bahama Blue (club-inspired colour option for blue-kit sides), Bahama Blue Light (lighter blue-grey tone), Indian Red (warm hue — evokes red and black kit traditions), and Paradiso Old (multi-colour swirl). Bahama Blue and Indian Red can echo the colours of many traditional rugby clubs.

Every order includes a free 3D digital design proof with unlimited revisions. Sandblasted engraving is cut deep so club names, positions, and personal messages remain legible outdoors for generations. Memory Headstones has crafted granite memorials since 1960.
