Rustic Slant Headstone

The Rustic Slant Headstone is a classic slant marker with a polished angled face and natural rock-pitched sides—an irregular hand-chiseled texture that gives the stone the look of freshly quarried granite. Measuring approximately 24 × 6 × 10 inches and rising 10–14 inches at its tallest point, this slant headstone suits cemeteries with an 18-inch height restriction while delivering a visual character that plain polished markers cannot match.

Rock-pitched sides are created by hand-breaking the granite edges along the natural cleavage plane, leaving a bold, three-dimensional texture that contrasts sharply with the smooth polished face. This technique has been used in memorial craftsmanship for over a century and is particularly popular in New England churchyards, traditional Catholic sections, and rural memorial parks where a handcrafted aesthetic complements the natural surroundings.

The angled polished face accommodates a full name, birth and death dates, a short epitaph, and one decorative motif—cross, rose, shamrock, anchor, or service emblem. The 15°–25° pitch sheds water naturally, keeping the inscription clear far longer than a flat marker. Sandblasted engraving cuts the lettering into the stone so it remains visible for generations.

Available in seven granite colors: Galaxy Black, Indian Black, Grey, Bahama Blue, Bahama Blue Light, Indian Red, and Paradiso Old. Indian Red with rock-pitched sides delivers a distinctive two-toned effect; Grey recalls classic New England memorial craft traditions.
